Can't update maps

Well, I've been trying this all day. I have a Zumo 660 gps, w/16 gig micro sd. I'm using the most recent version of Garmin Express and it tells me that a map update is available so I attempt to download it. I think it gets to about 10-15% and then gives me an error: There was an error installing update. I have also tried to download to computer, same results. Anyone have a clue what needs to be done to download the map update?

I must admit! Garmin Express is about the worst program I have seen in a long while! I have tried more than one computer to install the maps. It doesn't matter how you do it...when it fails or has a boo boo, you have to start at the beginning again! Even game installing programs work better than this...they start again where you left off! Stupid, stupid, stupid! I'll probably have to send in my Zumo 660 to Garmin so the maps can expertly be installed!
  • Generally Express works well. It would help if you explained a bit more about what is failing, if there are any error messages and what OS you're using. Also are you trying over WiFi?

I am using windows 10, on two computers, one had Windows 7. I've tried three different computers. The only error message I get each time is, "There was an error installing update". That's it! No error numbers or anything else. Main computer was direct connect w/cat 5, two others were wifi. I get about 5 mbps on my internet. I have also tried webupdater with the same results. This is on a fairly new (six months) Zumo 660 LM. And I appreciate the response! I have also attempted to save the map to each computer with same results.

Checked that all out, even tried a couple different USB cables...same error...I think I will try my son's internet service...his is much faster than mine.

Well, I DID try it on my son's internet connection and it installed perfectly! So, it appears that my internet connection was no up to par for the installation. Thank you all for your assistance...
