Garmin Express - Windows 10 - Forerunner 220

Hi!

I've read alot about express and win 10 - I tried all the solutions, from re-installing to changing usb ports etc. - nothing helped.
When I plug in the forerunner windows gives a ping - so its somehow recognized but it doesent show up as a drive letter.
downloaded latest drivers, and followed the steps postet here:
support.garmin.com/.../simpleCase.htm

When I want to select the grmnusb.inf I get an errormessage telling me that no compatible driver can be found in this folder and I should check if I have a 64bit system which I off course have.

Any further suggestions?

thx in advance!

I am sorry you're having trouble getting your Forerunner 220 to be detected by the Windows 10 PC. It seems that the drivers aren't saving to the computer at all if the "grmnusb.inf" isn't there. Some of our programs can load the drivers we need if the other download didn't work. Try installing the programs below and it should load the drivers:
    • WebUpdater
    • BaseCamp
Now, please try the steps in the article "How do I download the USB drivers for my Garmin Mode device?" again.

If the drivers still aren't loading, you should probably contact Product Support via phone for further assistance.

Again, I am sorry for the trouble you're having.

    Hi Dave!

After all I found the solution. It's because windows doesen't automatically add a drive letter to the garmin forerunner.

    Step by step:

    1. Open the windows control panel
    2. Open computer administration
    3. Open volumn administration
    4. If you see your garmin device it probably has no drive letter -> right click - 'add drive letter’ -> press OK. The device should now be available in the explorer with your driveletter
    5. Open Garmin express -> add device
    6. Have fun again

Maybe you could repost this for other customers?!
