GE and WiFi broken by UPDATES?

When will this expensive device actually do what it's manufacturer says it will do for more than just a few weeks....????!!!!! Edit: should have mentioned...device = Fenix 3 fully updated to FW 5.0 and all the others...

Wifi was all nicely setup, connecting and transferring automatically with no issues....since FW update 4.9 and now 5.0, wifi refuses to connect...first it refused completely but after 10 or so attempts.... bingo! then very next attempt...no way....NOW via Garmin Express, I try to add new network...firstly, GE NEVER starts automatically even when set to run always in the background and to start when device connected...(this has never worked!!)...so manually start GE, then all of a sardine, I start noticing it was logged out and to set up wifi I have to log in every time...this was NEVER the case! So OK, log in, and add new network but now network not seen even though I'm connected to it via via my laptop with full bars blasting sitting right next to the router....(windows 8.1)....so add manually...no issues, sync and disconnect USB...F3 Settings, wifi, connect to wifi....no way...watch cannot find known network...

For jeepers sake man GARMIN get this sorted out man, there are so many people complaining about wifi issues now, what the heck...the main reason I got this watch was the apparent ease of syncing data...no more wires, no more pressing buttons, no more anything, just walk into your wifi zone or open the app on your phone and there's your data waiting....and that's how it did work for a while.....and I really don't want the hear about router settings and 801 this that and the other...there are no instructions from Garmin to re-configure your router or fiddle with any of its settings, its inconceivable that a company would release a product that would require all manner to configuring of portals to customize them to suite their product...anyway, it was working well before

So after downloading "UPDATES" most of which lately have been fixes to previous "UPDATES" that broke working functions, none of this is working.....5.0 took its toll on GE and took forever to sync after first installing....

Com'on Garmin show me some love, the watch is great but all this fix, break, fix is driving me nuts.....I love the added functionality given via some of the updates but to have core functions failing constantly is just so frustrating...

    I've seen Garmin Support reply to mails in this read....Garmin ExpressCustomerCare/Support: any chance of some assistance with the above?

    I am sorry that you are having trouble with your Fenix 3. I would recommend contacting Product Support by phone as this appears to be a device issue not an issue with Garmin Express.

  • Garmin Express Support, thanks for the reply but I'm sorry, there was nothing wrong with my watch prior to 4.9 and 5.0 FW updates, it worked great even GPS accuracy was good...wifi has been reported to give a lot of people issues, the only change I made was update the watch.....
