Garmin Express fails to download map for Edge 1000

I connect my edge 1000 (5.10 firmware) and the download stops or fails after an hour or so.

Any other way to update maps?

How do I get it to complete?

Have turned off McAffee antivirus/Total Protection firewall and live scan and doesn't seem to help?

Garmin tech????

Problem with latest map update

I have been trying to download the latest map update for 2 days. The download appears to get about half way then quits with an error message. When I try again, the progress bar picks up where it left off but nothing appears to happen. Is there a temporary file on my PC that I need to delete to start the download afresh? Any other ideas? I have the latest version of Garmin Express and the latest Edge 1000 firmware. Thanks in advance.

Not particularly helpful I'm afraid. I have no problem installing any other update, It's just the latest map update that's a problem. Oh well...

Then as suggested contact Product Support so they can troubleshoot the issue for you.

map upgrade not downloading

I tried to download the US map upgrade to my Edge 1000 today but it locked up. I gave up after four hours. Did anyone have betteer luck

I finally got it downloaded after using a different computer and after 4 or 5 failed attempts. There has to be a better way. How about the option for "power users" to download the map files from a server and update their units "manually"? Thanks.

Glad to hear you got the map update downloaded. As for your suggestion for power users, all requests should be made on the Garmin Have An Idea? website.
