Nuvi 680

I tried to update my maps in the NUVI 680 but my Garmin express cant find or see the SD card. I am able to install into the main Garmin folder in the Garmin eater, Canada + border states 2016.20 or CN NORTH AMERICA NT 2016.20 lower 49 states. Not both due to lack of space in the main Garmin. Garmin express does not see the SD CARD nor does it ask me or tell me if i want to install the maps in the SD card. Garmin express is up to date. i even tried to tell the garmin express where to install and still nothing. On the Garmin map info page, the only map that is installed is the one in the main Garmin and it is checked. No other maps are showing.

On my NUVI 255 when i did the map install, it recognized the sd card and it automatically installed the NORTH AMERICA maps in the SD card.

Does anybody have any ideas.

Garmin Express won't see a card on that device. See this FAQ for help

Also be aware that the nuvi 6xx series has a maximum file size limit of 2 GB, and the full NA map is larger than 2 GB. So, even if you install the map to SD card, you will not be able to install the full NA map as a single file. You will need to split the map up putting a reduced region in internal memory, then install the remaining regions to the SD card as a supplemental map.
