Cannot Pair Device

Former Member
Former Member
Hi,

On a new Win 10 installed Garmin Express however I cannot pair my device.
1. Devise recognized - OK
2. When I try to sign in I get "There was a problem connecting to the Garmin servers. We're unable to sign you in because our servers are unavailable at this time"

when I try http://omt.garmin.com/ I get "Your computer can connect to Garmin Express servers!"

Time is the same on laptop and device.
Running 4.1.10.0 version of Garmin Express
Any advise?

I am sorry for the troubles. Since you confirmed that most of the basic troubleshooting has been covered this bring us to the possibility of bad data on the device itself. It might not be activity data but could be user profile or device settings etc.. Double check the FAQ article below then I suggest you delete all activities that are uploaded and possibly the first activity after the last sync date. If all else fails, master reset the device or contact Product Support by phone.

What should I do if I receive a server error while using Garmin Express?

Again I am sorry for the troubles.

    Thank you for the response.
Tried syncing on my old laptop running w7 and was able to sync.
Tried again on Windows 10, still getting the same error.
And Swim watch got stuck on "Data Transfer" screen. Nothing helped and had to take battery out to reset it. Then did a hard reset, still nothing. tried pairing on Win 10 and got stuck on "Data Transfer" again.
Took battery out again and was not able to sync even using windows 7.
Strange thing I noticed. Watch shows that it has sw version 3.80 while Garmin Express shows 3.60.

We are sorry you still have trouble getting your device to pair on your Windows 10 computer. If it works on the Windows 7 computer on the same network, then there must be a program or setting on the Windows 10 computer causing the trouble. Please try the following steps to see if we can fix it:
    • Please disable all Firewalls, Anti Virus, or Auto Protect programs temporarily.
    • If you are using a VPN (Virtual Private Network) then please disable it.
    • If you are using a proxy, then please disable it..
    • Disable any backup programs like "Carbonite" and file-sharing programd like "DropBox" or torrents.

Now, please see if it will pair with those programs disabled. they can be turned on after the pairing process. If the device still won't pair, you may want to contact our Product Support by phone to fix this issue.

We are sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.
