Windows 10 failure

Since upgrading my computer from windows 7 to windows 10, I am unable to use Garmin Express to update my nuvi 3490LM. After contacting Garmin Australia I was Given the following advice: Widows ten does not support Garmin Express, Contact Windows 10 direct. to solve the problem. Garmin US. have been advised of the problem, however are unable to tell us :confused:when this will be fixed, so see if you can find a family friend running windows 7 and try to down load from their computer, or else downgrade your computer to windows 7. (This highly technical advice I find to be useless) Can someone please help me get back on the road with my wonderful Garmin.
  • I do not understand why u get such a answer, i us Express successfully on my girls laptop which runs on Windows 10. All our devices are added, and all work flawless.

    As u can read, i do not have any problems with Windows 10.....

    when I try and load Garmin Express as described, I receive a message "contact Garmin Support" The advice from Garmin Australia Technical support is as described. There seems to be, According to them no compatibility with Windows 10 and the Australian version. maybe you have a different version ?
    Pleas send your girls Laptop to me and solve all my problems, Ha Ha just joking. Cant log on however, will try your suggestion thanks.

    I used your steps 1-5 but was advised that to modify Local app data was risky and could stop my computer from working correctly.
    More info from me. Garmin Express is installed date created 20132605 and updated 20151111.
    The error message I receive when trying to open is as follows. (An unexpected error has occurred and Garmin Express must close. If you continue to experience this contact Customer Support.)
    Question 1 Are you suggesting that I delete the currently installed Garmin Express and reinstall ??

    Question 2 Are you aware that Australian distributors of Garmin tell me that they have no responsibility with the software, and to contact Garmin support.

    Garmin support Australia state (There is a problem with WINDOWS 10 SOFTWARE AND GARMIN HAVE TO RESOLVE THIS, AND WE HAVE NO IDEA WHEN THIS WILL BE FIXED,

    This is the official response which you can verify with Garmin Support Australia.

    I am sure this problem will be experienced by all customers who update to Windows 10.
    Can you please give this your urgent attention,

    I am sorry for the troubles. Garmin Express is compatible with and running on Windows 10. The FAQ suggestions provided are Public facing and if the steps are followed correctly can resolve some installation issues. Since there were no details about what Garmin Express is doing, what version you have installed, or any error messages included in your original post, I suggest you follow the article that best reflects your situation.

    I'm not sure who you spoke with at Garmin Australia but they undoubtedly experience users with Windows 10 installed everyday. Maybe they misunderstood or maybe a Garmin Distributor was contacted instead of Garmin Australasia.
