Doubly screwed by Garmin

I am still running on Windows XP (as I spent significant sums on software that still works on a stable an largely bug free OS) and Garmin Express tells me that I have an incompatible OS and kindly suggests I spend yet more money upgrading my OS to something that will not support my other applications.

I use a Garmin 405CX which is also incompatible with Garmin Express (or at least doesnt work with Garmin Express). I tried using Garmin Express when it first came out a few years ago and it didnt recognise my Garmin dongle so nothing would upload. I sorted that out by reverting to Garmin Connect.

Now apparently Garmin have decided that its sunset for both my OS (unless they decide that the way I connect is still available) and my Garmin GPS watch.

As an EU citizen I have some consumer rights and I dont think Garmin is observing them... if I cant use Garmin for uploading my activities then I think they must provide me with my data in a format that I can upload elsewhere for one.

I'm also taking exception to Garmin effectively involving me in thousands of pounds worth of upgrades to OS and other software in order to keep using a service (data staorage and uploads) that was promised to be ongoing with the purchase of their hardware...

Anyone else hacked off with the way Garmin is treating us over the legacy connect issues?
