My watch appears to have transferred data to garmin express via the ant stick but during the sync it ends up hanging at around the 30% level and never gets any further. This has happened with every attempted sync this week. What can I do? The watch itself if working fine. I am frustrated not being able to upload my workouts! Thanks for any help you can give me!
I am sorry for the troubles. This behavior sounds like Express is getting choked up on the amount of data on the watch it needs to process in comparison to what is already uploaded to Connect. If you have activities in the History that have already been uploaded to Connect I recommend that you delete them from the watch. Once this is complete restart the computer and power cycle the 910XT then create a short test activity and see if that will sync. I will also include the FAQ below for basic troubleshooting.
What can I try when my ANT Fitness device will not sync with Garmin Express? https://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/case.faces?caseId={600f3dd0-3e6a-11dd-d7af-000000000000}
If you continue to have trouble remove the watch from Express and Connect then add it back again or contact Garmin Product Support by phone.
How do I delete a fitness device from Garmin Express? https://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/case.faces?caseId={580cc110-bb9c-11e3-69f4-000000000000}
I should explain; I have been waiting over an hour for Garmin express to finish syncing/transferring data. Then just now I finally got the error "there was an error syncing with Garmin Connect". There's only one new activity on my 910xt since the last sync, so understandably I'm a little annoyed at this.
I'm assuming that it's trying to sync all of the activities on the watch (?). When I go into the 910xt 'History' there are a bunch of old activities. There is an option to delete activities older than 1 month. If I select 'yes' it says '0 activity deleted'. Then I scroll through my history and can see activities back to July 2015 - that's about 4 months old currently.
Is this backlog of activities likely to be causing the excessive delays?
Are we expected to go through and manually delete past activities after Garmin Express has synced them?
Thanks
Those old activities are more than likely the reason that the sync it being delayed and then throwing the error. We recommend keeping no more than 30 days worth of activities on these devices as storage space is finite and when it is filled up, new activities overwrite older ones and can cause corruption.
If the delete activities older than 30 days is not working, you will need to remove them individually.
If the activities will not delete individually, you may need to master reset the device.
If the problems continue, it would be best to contact Product Support by phone for further assistance.
