Is express still not compatible with Forerunner 405?

I just purchased a forerunner 405 and I am very disappointed. The watch works fine, but the synchronisation with garmin connect is dreadful. As I browsed through the forum I saw, this was a problem already a year ago! And still not solved? Real disgrace!

Th sync from watch to Garmin Connect is sporadic at best. The first few runs synced fine. Than nothing. Than I forced a sync from the watch, and only the last run synced, the older ones are probably stuck in the twilight zone of the Express folders.

The sync from Garmin connect (goals, tracks, trainings) never worked.

It was a no-brainer for me to go Garmin when I was looking for a GPS watch, but after this I have to say my next purchase won't be garmin unless there is a big surprise in the next few days!

Is there any plans to make Forerunner 405 work with Garmin Express? Any solution emerged since 2014? Any tip? Anything?
  • Workout downloads doesn't work either!

Since then I tried to download my workouts to my watch, Garmin Connect gives Transmission Error. Another feature that doesn't work :(

Should I expect any reaction from Garmin?
  • In my case, synchronisation only work sometimes, and from about 1 year ago I cant send training plans to my device.
Garmin answer is that they are working to solve it, and that know due to the last updates my device is not compatible with training plans....

I know my forerrunner is discontinued, it is old, and I don't expect to get any new features with the updates, I just would like to keep the same features that when I bougth it

My advice, as a Forerunner 410 user for the last 2 years.
Don't expect that Garmin will solve anything....specially if you are not buying one of the last models of gps-smartwatch
Actually, if you still have the chance, try to get your money back and try with another brand (Tomtom, Nike, Polar...whatever)...It is what I'll do when I have to change mine.

    Sorry for my bad outlook!

  • Wow, that is harsh!
Do you have an official statement from Garmin, that workouts are not compatible with forerunner 410 anymore? That seems like a pretty serious warranty violation! I don't know where you live but in the EU it should have serious consequences for Garmin to pull such a stunt!
