Re-authentication Required

My wife and I use the same computer to sync our watches to our accounts. My watch is syncing just fine but her's keeps asking for "Re-authentication Required". I enter her account information correctly and it just keeps coming up. I've removed the watch from express and re-linked it, I've gone into her account and put her device on retire and then reconnected.

Any idea what is going on, any help?

thanks,
  • I've also, uninstalled Garmin express and reinstalled. Still getting the same issue, but it does appear to happen with both of our devices. However, my device did sync my latest run...

I am sorry you are being asked to "re-authenticate" your devices. This is normally caused by a file on the computer that stores your Connect passwords. We may be able to correct this by removing the devices from Express and deleting the file. Please try the following steps:
    • First, please use the article "How do I delete a fitness device from Garmin Express?" to remove your devices from Garmin Express.
    • Close Garmin Express.
    • Press the Windows key (2 keys left of the spacebar) + "R" to open the "Run" command.
    • Type in %programdata%\Garmin\CoreService and press "Enter". (You must type the % symbols.)
    • Right-click on the "device_data_store.xml" file.
    • Select "Delete" then close the window.
    • Restart Garmin Express and add your devices back to it.

This should stop it from asking you to "re-authenticate". Let us know if you still have trouble.
