With that sort of detail it's difficult to help. How old is your 'new 55'. How were you trying to update your maps, indeed if new what prompted you to do so? Did the device ever work correctly? If you updated your maps (or attempted to) using Express at what point did it fail? Did you do a 'safe eject' when removing your nuvi from your PC?
