Garmin-Express-Very-slow-Internet Windows 7

I read it before on this forum (https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?124926-Garmin-Express-Very-slow-Internet-Access-Start-up-Windows-7) but like to react by way of a new post because the thread was closed. After installing Garmin Express, my pc starts up normally but than it takes a while before access to internet is achieved. I found out that is caused by Garmin Express by doing the following:

Click on the Microsoft icon down left at your screen
Type msconfig and touch Enter
Go to Services
Hide All Microsoft services (tick)
Switch Off all Services
Restart your computer

If the problem has been solved:

Type msconfig again
Go to Services and tick (put on) the first 5 Services
Restart your computer

If the problem still has been solved:

Type msconfig again
Go to Services and tick (put on) the next 5 Services
Restart your computer

Type msconfig again etc etc

Until the slow start internet problem occurs.
Now you know the problem is caused by one of the five last Services you ticked
One by one tick off one of these five until the problem is gone. The last one you ticked off caused the problem.
In my case it was Garmin Express.
I uninstalled Garmin Express and everything was ok.

I think the best solution is that Garmin should try to remove this bug in the Garmin Express Software.

I am sorry your computer connects to the internet slowly if Garmin Express is installed. Most users do not have this issue, but each computer is different. Garmin Express loads its service and establishes an internet connection when the computer starts. It is possible this is conflicting with another process also accessing your internet and causes a delay. We can do the following to prevent the program from always starting:
    • Launch Garmin Express.
    • Click on Settings (the gear icon).
    • In the General section, uncheck "Always keep Garmin Express running in the background."
    • Click on OK and close Express.

This should prevent the issue. If it doesn't, you can disable the service using the msconfig tool you already use. When you want to run Express, launching the program will start the service again.
