Garmin Express - excessive disk storage - unnecessary?

The previous thread was closed for some reason, so starting a new one.

I found about 30 Gbytes of files left in C:\ProgramData\Garmin\CoreService. This is in addition to the actual maps that are stored in C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Maps.

I understand the CoreService folders are just old downloads that are retained for some reason - just in case one might want to go back to older maps?
One simple fix is for Garmin Express to add a check box for "retain old downloads".

30 Gbytes is more than 10% of a 250G SSD, so it is not insignificant.

I am sorry that you are experiencing issues. Garmin Express should remove old maps from this folder when the device is updated to a newer version of maps. The only time the files shouldn't be deleted (assuming Garmin Express is up to date) is if you have multiple devices added to Express that are using different versions of maps.

If this is not the case, the issue that you are experiencing is not typical. You can of course delete the files from that folder manually but if the problem persists, it would be best to contact Product Support by phone.
