I am sorry that you are having trouble with Garmin Express. Generally if Express will not launch, it is caused by a corrupt config file on the computer. Please follow these instructions:
    • Press the Windows key + E
    • Type %localappdata%
    • Delete the folder named Garmin_Ltd._or_its_subsid
    • Try launching Garmin Express again

If this does not solve the problem, also try restarting the computer. If you are still having trouble, please contact Product Support by phone.

  • Says Express Installed even after deleting it all off the computer

I did all this and it still keeps saying it installed and it still won't open or function. I've wasted hours and hours on this

I am sorry for the troubles. Does Garmin Express show as an installed App? If so, have you tried uninstalling it then reinstalling?

    To uninstall Garmin Express:
    • Press the Windows Key + R on the keyboard
    • Type Control Panel in the Open box
    • Click OK
    • Click Uninstall a Program in the Programs section1
    • Right click Garmin Express
    • Click Uninstall
    • Click Uninstall in the new window

If you continue to have troubles with installing Garmin Express please contact Garmin Product Support via phone so the issue can be thoroughly investigated.

  • I know this is an old thread, but this just happened to me yesterday, and after spending hours dealing with it I finally found a solution. What worked for me was -

    1. Open regedit (type regedit on the run line)

    2. Edit > Find > enter version number of Garmin Express (I searched for "7.4.0.0")

    3. Delete every registry key that has Garmin Express with this version number

    4. Reinstall Garmin Express

There aren't too many of these keys (there were only 3 on my computer), so it shouldn't take too long.

Took about 5 minutes total, and once those keys were deleted, I was able to reinstall Garmin Express again with no problems at all.
