  • There are numerous open source map websites. Which one are you using? Why can't you 'get it on to your 1000'?

I think it's called Garmin nl open source

I take the map out it onto micro sd card in Garmin folder-it appears there-then can't open it or find the map on maps on Garmin-just the pre installed maps
  • Is the card formatted FAT32? If not that could be the issue. If it is there is an excellent guide that might help here:

    http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2013/05/download-garmin-705800810.html

Note the need to unzip any zipped file containing the map, which needs to be a .img file
  • Hi there, I too have the same issue. I am in Jersey now, and have tried several times to load the maps I got from the Garmin nl web site.
I have previously added maps for Australia to my device, and they worked great, so it isn't as though I have not done this before.
Is it related to the fact that the already loaded UK maps do not have the Channel Islands on them, and when I load the additional maps then the unit doesn't look at the new maps as it finds the older pre installed maps first?

    Any help would be appreciated

    Gavin
  • Assuming you have an Edge1000 then you can load numerous maps so having other maps installed probably isn't the issue.

Does the map appear in the map list? You may have to enable that map and disable all the others to see the Jersey map.
  • Perhaps this is the Edge's way of telling you that it does not like Jersey?
