I am sorry for the troubles. I suggest you delete the App update items in the Sync menu (Connect-leftside-two arrows). Next, see if the fenix3 will sync your step data. Depending on the connectIQ apps you might consider uninstalling - installing them if the updates continue to fail but if this continues I suggest you contact Garmin Product Support by phones so they can look into why the automatic updates are failing.
