GPSMAP 64S Waypoints

Hi newbie question here ,

I am trying to upload a gpx file on to my gps64s it has 345 waypoints , when i view route on base camp i see whole route but when i upload it to gps,i only see up to waypoint 250?? Am i missing something completely obvious???

Yes :)

Your GPS has a maximum number of 250 points in a route.

Okay is there a way on base camp to edit route to remove some some points ??
The route is a circular so part of the return leg is following the track i will be walking on the outward leg ???
If i can remove or even split route in to two??

Simplest way is to use the split tool to split the track at some convenient point.

If the original file is a Track, you have the options of navigating the Track or limiting the number of points during the Track to Route conversion.

Besides the suggestion above, you could could convert the Route to a Track and navigate the Track. Or convert this new Track to a Direct Route and limit the number of points.

For my suggestions, make sure you compare the original with new Track/Route.

Thanks SSUAMB and BTLAAKE,

I have converted to a track and i have lost the way points but i do have the full route ,it should get me thro my 35 km hill walk tomorrow .

Glad you sorted it. I prefer routes to tracks and even 25 miles or so rarely need more than 250 points so yours must be unusual :)
