I have been ‘’googleing’’ the internet to find some information on a couple of issues I have with my new Zumo 590.
I used to own a 550 which to me was great and I find the new 590 a bit of a challenge to get used to.
Particular issues for me are:
1. Splitting of the route. I used to make routes with a large number of waypoints on the 550. Seems if I go over about 30 with the 590 the route is split into 2. Not a big deal but a bit irritating. I have found some info on waypoint types which I need to get into.
2. The biggest irritation factor with the 590 is during riding. When I have loaded my route from Basecamp onto the 590 and want to start riding the route the old option on the 550 of “do you wish to navigate to the start of this route” has gone. This is a shame but again I can live with it.
3. HOWEVER, the real problem is if I start riding the set route and for some reason I am forced to deviate from the original route due to road works or whatever the 590 tries to take me back to the last waypoint. The further I drive along the route this irritation does not stop as the route continues to try and send me back to the one I missed. The only way to stop this is to stop along the route, look at the map and try and identify the next ways point from where I have stopped, stop the navigation, restart the navigation but then select this next waypoint from the list as being the one I want to start the route navigation from. This is a huge pain.
Sorry if this has been asked before. Any advice you can offer would be great.
