  • Basecamp 4.5.1.1 finds a running instance of Google Earth or Google Earth Pro. But, to find the running instance of Google Earth Pro, Google Earth also needs to be installed.

It would be nice if Basecamp didn't require Google Earth to be installed if Google Earth Pro is installed.

Problem in printing segments of the map if ByrdsEye tiles present.

When I setup for the print (capture1),I get a print of the birdsEye Tile (capture2). Show, Hide overlays button is ignored in the print mode. Second, waypoint labels are way to big, size choice would be great. Thanks to Win. 7 Snipping tool that will do the job for the printing.

Just updated with windows 10...went cool..
  • Only running in 2D mode

Having a problem with a laptop running Windows 10, with Intel integrated HD graphics. After install, when the program performed the graphics check, it indicated that my system did not have the 3D graphics support for OpenGL. I checked for latest drivers; checked OK. Other programs with 3D graphics needing OpenGL support work fine. Was working fine using 4.5.0. There might be a bug in the graphics check.

Do you have the latest driver for your video card?
  • On Win7 mine starts within about 5 seconds, so it's either a Win10 issue or something within your system. The Basecamp developers pop in here occasionally so may be able to help.
  • On my Windows 10 64 bit system Basecamp will be up and ready in about 6-10 seconds depending upon whether the Montana is connected or not. So I think there is something unusual about your particular installation.

Since upgrading to this version I receive an error message every time I try to load Basecamp. I can start Basecamp with the "BaseCamp (2D only)" option but not the normal BaseCamp item from the Start Menu.
I'm running Windows 10. The following is a screen capture of the error dialog that appears as BaseCamp is loading.

    " />">

Early this morning Windows 10 downloaded and installed its latest updates. This problem with Basecamp persists. I'm running Basecamp ver 4.5.1.
To reiterate, Basecamp 2D works fine. It is attempting to start Basecamp 3D that results in the above error.
I never had a problem with either form of Basecamp under Windows 7 Home.

Can I get some help with this please?

Trip Planner load times of several minutes are the norm in my system and the reason I stopped using it at all. Pity, because I had come to like the concept but useless to me in its current state.
  • That might explain why I don't see those startup times. I tried the Trip Planner once and didn't find it useful at all so I've never tried it again.
With the Montana I just find it easier to create a separate route for each day/leg of a multi-day trip and use each one individually. The trip planner thingy would seem useful to me if I were running a railroad. There's just too much variability in a road trip by car.

I understand some new devices don't use routes which is why I'll keep my Montana until it dies.
