Downloaded Basecamp_450.exe, execute the installer, seems like it goes through the motions, no desktop icon (running windows v8.1 x64) create icon to basecamp executable in the folder, get the blue "huluhoop" for a few seconds and nothing... posts on the forum suggested the .net repair tool, ran that- no help... also scanned/defragged drives, windows update and nvidia updates, still no fix... HELP! new RV760 GPS and can't talk to it with mapsource... yeah, have mapsource installed and it seems to be OK...
MapSource will work with your RV760, you just need to set it to mass storage mode. Not quite sure how it works on the RV series but for a nuvi
1. Start NUVI by itself and go to Volume Screen.
2. Press the upper right hand corner of screen for 10 seconds.
3. The Developers Screen will pop up
(may see Configuration and Settings, if so select it)
4. Scroll down to MTP SETTINGS
5. Change from AUTO DETECT to MASS STORAGE
6. Shut down NUVI and connect to PC
7. It should now connect in mass storage mode.
As an alternative to step 1 and 2 above, you can bring up the Nuvi's "trip information" screen by tapping the speed icon, then press and hold the speedometer for about 10 seconds to access the developer screen. Now go from step 3.
