Basecamp 4.5.0 does not start on Win 10 64 bits

Try setting Windows compatibility mode.

After upgrading to Win 10, I did not succeed to start Basecamp. Upgrading to 4.5.0 did not help.

error message: The application was unable to start correctly (0xc00000e5). click ok to close the application ( see prtscr of the message in attach )

That error usually has something to do with the program to access memory that doesn't exist or that is broken (messed up memory module etc). If WIN10 is the only new thing, you can try finding the executable for basecamp and then go to the compatibility tab and select the previous version of windows for the software.

Well, you do what you need to do to get it running but I'm running BC 4.50 on the released Win10 64 bit with no compatibility settings needed. I've run BC 4.x on every Windows 10 preview release with no problems. So something is obviously different on our setups. Maybe I've got some other application installed that has overwritten a DLL or something.

For those that are having trouble launching BaseCamp, please try launching in 2D mode. It should be an available option when looking for BaseCamp in the programs menu.

Please let me know if it launches in 2D mode but not 3D mode.

Same thing here, no problems running it on a desktop with Win 10 and on a Surface Pro tablet with Win 10.

I almost never use Basecamp for anything so all I can say is that it runs and works for quick tests of trivial things, just so I know it's functioning. It's quite possible that there may be some of the more advanced functions, like Trip Planner and complex routing and Adventures, that might have issues in Win 10 and I would never know.

For what it's worth, Mapsource works perfectly in all of the (Fast ring) technical preview builds as well as the final release. JaVaWa's fine utilities also work.
