Montana 600T Waypoint Transfer?

When I select a group of waypoints in BC and click "send to GPS" there is no "transfer complete" message or any question as to where I want them sent (ie internal storage, data card, etc). The waypoints are not visible on the unit but may actually be there, as the BC seems to import them when I connect to BC. Not sure if I am describing this well? Bottom line: Waypoint Manager in the MONTANA is unaware of ANY WAYPOINTS in the unit and that means I cant use them. They may as well not be there. I had to use my old TOPO! program to be able to load & use the waypoints. I find it bizzare that I have one of Garmins latest GPS units and Their own Map Program and I cant do a simple "Send Waypoints to GPS". Thankfully I have a National Geographic Program from 10 years ago or I'd be hunting with no waypoints.
Any advise? Thanks. Frustrated after working several hours on it yesterday.
  • Very weird. I have a Montana and waypoints transfer fine.

Do you see your Montana in the top left hand pane? Any card should show there as well.

To send data right click on the data in the lower left hand pane and select Send to. All list and devices in the top left hand pane should then be shown for you to select from, including your Montana.

Having done so I see them in Waypoint manager or if I do a Where to, Waypoints.
  • Works fine for me with BC 4.5.0 and a Montana 600 with firmware 6.5. I don't have a 600T but I don't expect having a topo map installed on the device has anything to do with the issue.
If I select a bunch of waypoints and click Send to I get a list box with all my folders and lists and at the bottom is a list of all my connected devices. I pick the Montana and list box goes away. You need to look at the device list to see a green progress bar and green check mark when the transfer is complete.

Your Montana's Internal Storage is showing up in the devices list, correct?
