Basecamp does not start

I am not really sure whether this is the correct place to post this. If not, sorry and feel free to correct me.

As the title suggests Basecamp does not start on my Windows laptop. The laptop is rather new and runs on Windows 10 (64 bits). The problem exists with both BC 4.4.7 and 4.5.0. What happens is that I click the executable, a window appears for a fraction of a second and disappears before I got a good look at what it says. That's it, no Basecamp and no indication that the laptop is doing anything.

Hopefully someone can help me with this one.

I seem to recall this has cropped up before and was due to Basecamp starting but due to the set screen resolution wasn't visible on the screen. Have a look in Task manager to see if Basecamp is running. If it is try adjusting the screen resolution until you can see it and maximise it, thereafter it should display ok.

No, Basecamp is not showing in the task manager.

On another forum I was advised to delete the user.config file in the AppData\Local\GARMIN_Corp\Basecamp.exe_<code> folder. This works to get Basecamp to run, but I have to remove the file every time before Basecamp will run.

Any thoughts?

I have the same problem, and this trick does help indeed. Is there no progress on this in 4 months? Perhaps somebody knows how to let the error message on display for a longer time?

I am running Windows 10 on a Lenovo Yoga Pro 3, with a 3200*1800 screen resolution.
