BC 4.5 failing to upgrade or instal

I have twice received notification via my BC 4.2 that an upgrade was available, so I click to accept, then my BC closes I then get a window saying this will take a few minutes, and then a few more making it 10 mins. I close the window only reopen my BC to find it is still 4.2.
I uninstalled my BC 4.2 downloaded BC 4.5 again the window cdisplays, and again I have waited 10 mins but still no action, and it has not installed?

Win7 64, plenty of memory etc.

4.5.0 - still no junction view in Nuvi 2595? Or I misunderstood?

"Fixed routes sent to nuvis and zumos not displaying Junction View"

Does this apply to photoReal Junction View as well? My 2595 had issues where any routes sent from BC would not show the photoReal photos until I recalculated the routes. Which, of course, is a disaster if you chose to strip shaping points fromt he route.

Was this release supposed to fix the photoReal Junction View? Or is photoReal only available if my nuvi has processed the route and can insert the pictures? And if the latter is true, does anyone know of a way to "trick" the nuvi into displaying the photoReal pictures on routes sent to the nuvi from BC without reprocessing the route?

    Thank you for your time!

I think it has something to do with trying - and failing - to install .NET 4.5. (If you've installed BC successfully before, it fails because you already have .NET 4.5 installed). The executable is actually a zip file set to run the included installer. I think it tries to install .NET 4.5 first. If it fails, you're out of luck. Ordinarily, that is. What you have to do is manually unzip the file somewhere, go to that directory and install using BCMAIN.msi and choose c:\program files as the install path. (If you are running a 64-bit Operating System, it will automatically redirect to c:\program files(x86) because this is a 32-bit application.) This installs BC directly. Don't try running GarminInstall.exe because that's what the zip installer tries - and fails - to run. You can try running dotNetFx45_Full_setup.exe before BCMAIN.msi, but when I tried it failed and said I already had it installed (which I did, of course).

    I hope this helps.

    route covers highway signs

This bug has been around forever. Can you change the Z-order so that the highway signs are drawn over the route and not under it? The way it is now, you have a very hard time reading the numbers. I know the workaround is to make the route lines so thin you can see the number, but this is how I view workarounds. Imagine a pothole in a street. The workaround is to tell drivers to use a different street to avoid the pothole. The fix is to fill the pothole so users can use the street. Sometimes the only solution IS the workaround, but in this case, I have to believe it's relatively easy to fix.

I deleted the GPX Folder on the etrex 20, and Basecamp will load, then when I Quit and re-load BaseCamp, it will crash again.

    Attached is the log file

Ahhh, good. I see you've posted to the Mac forum. :)

A quick search for "windows media player" shows a couple of threads that address this, from versions before 4.5. One: https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?204935-Basecamp-Windows-8-1-issue-solved
Thanks C14_Rider, but what an incompatible requirement - Windows 10 Home doesn't install WMP and yet BC4.5.0 requires it (!)
