How Prevent Mods to Copied Route from changing original?

I createe a new List Folder and copied a route from another folder into it. I change the name of the copied route to something else. When I make changes to the new route in the new List Folder the changes also occur in the original route.
How can I prevent mods to the copied and renamed route from affecting the original route?
