In Basecamp and using the "send to" Nuvi feature, the app did not offer me the option of sending the route gpx file to the SD card, and when exported to Internal Memory of the Nuvi 56 as a temp.gpx file, the B/C route did not appear in the Nuvi Trip Planner listings. So the temp gpx file needs to be moved to the SD card by one method or another.
Really? Basecamp has for a long time offered the option to send the route to the sd card, in fact it will offer you the chance to send it to ANY sd card or usb memory stick on your PC, I do it all the time.
Wherever it goes my 2508 displays it in Trip Planner, as should your 56 according to here
