List/Export waypoints and coordinates on BaseCamp

I thought I posted this earlier – obviously it appears I thought wrong.

I manage over 2000 waypoints that represent navigational aids on the waters of South Carolina. I am trying to find a way that I can export the waypoints and their coordinates into XL or Word so that I can manage them for printing purposes.

I see that this used to be relatively simple you a map source – but somebody help me figure out how to do it in Basecamp please.

I tried to search but the not so smart phone is not my friend today. If this is previous believe been addressed please feel free to show me the link.

Thank you in advance

If all you want is name, lat and lon then it is easy. First select the topmost folder that contains all the lists, then Filter by waypoints. At this point you should be seeing 2000 waypoints in the bottom left pane. Select all. With all selected click on File->Export->Export selection and choose comma-delimited or tab-delimited, whichever you are more familiar with. Save and open with Excel. Delete all non-waypoint rows, before and after the block of 2000 waypoints (one to a row, unless you have notes, in which case it's a lot harder). In excel split the rows into columns (comma or tab), then delete the columns you are not interested in.

There are freeware tools that make the process easier, but the above will do just fine.
  • Newer versions of Excel should be able to automatically parse a gpx file into columns. There will several columns of little interest that can be deleted as a block. Those of interest will be on the far right of the table.
