How Access Trip Log?

I use Basecamp 4.4.7 and with attached to the GPS (Nuvi 855) I execute the Basecamp command to "Receive from Device" which will usually bring in the Trip Log or a .gpx of the actual route traveled into a folder.
When I do this I get nothing downloading from the GPS. I dont even get an indication of downloading, e.g., progress bar shown in the Library window.
I can see the trip log on the GPS screen so I know it is present in the Nuvi 855 storage. I have read the battery needs to be removed and replaced to do this and I have done that also with no success.

Any ideas on how I can access the trip log in the GPS?

Do you see the trip log in the bottom left hand pane when you select the nuvi in the top right hand pane?

Im unclear on the question. In Basecamp I have the data view on the left and map view on the right. Under devices within the data view when I select Nuvi/ "internal storage" I do not see the "Trip Log" which is a file with naming convention "Active Log: [date Time]". In the past I have been able to get the Trip Log by removing the battery, replacing then doing a "recieve from device" command.

Its working again. I reset the Nuvi and also I went into the Nuvi storage and deleted some audio books and some of the languages to free up some internal storage. I went for a small trip with the Nuvi and could see on the Nuvi display that it had recorded the trip. Now using Basecamp and with the Nuvi connected via USB, I looked at the Nuvi internal storage in the Basecamp "Library" window and I could see the trip log as "ACTIVE LOG: [todays date/time]"
