BMW MOTORRAD Navigator 4

Having purchased a BMW K1600 GT, the bike came with GARMIN navigator 4 integrated.
Since then, going from "A to B" is easy.
However, adding a specific roadbook, with 'waypoints' is like buying a lotto ticket.

My steps:

1/ Use Google maps to plot my desired itinerary
2/ Copy the Google maps url of my desired trip
3/ paste that into http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/convert_input?convert_format=gpx while selecting .gpx
4/ download resulting .GPX file
5/ Connect to Nav 4 via USB to PC
6/ Drag and drop file from PC to Nav4/Garmin/GPX folder
7/ Disconnect Nav 4 from PC
8/ switch Nav 4 off then on again
9/ Go to tools / My documents folder and try to import the file as an Itinerary.
10/ Go to trip search and try to go to Customized Itinerary and select my file. ......but it's never there.

Been using same method with TomTom using different file extension than .GPX and it works fine.

It pains me to have a 1300euro GPS option on a flagship motorcycle only to stick a TomTom Go Live in the middle of the handle bars because the Nav 4 cannot do anything more than "A to B".

Today, I decided to try doing things from scratch, so download last firmware and maps. The Downlaod was marked for 3 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would prefer to discared this GARMIN NAV 4 in favor of the TomTom but everytime I ride the bike I've got to look at this useless piece of rubbish. I get the feeling there are 100000 brilliant programmers and software designers in the world but none of them are employed by GARMIN.

Anyways, rant over, if you see how to load .GPX maps another way, I'll be happy to have that. I didn't receive any BMW cd or Garmin cd so I have checked and found and installed GARMIN EXPRESS to interface this device.
