I have recently bought my GPS.
I create a route using waypoints.
I check the root in BaseCamp and all points are showing OK.
When I upload the route in the device some points are just not there.
I can import the route in my device and also access it with no problem. but if the rout I created has ie. 15 way points not all are transferred to the unscheduled trips.
my last try I created wp from 1 to 20 and when I check the trip wp before I press GO to calculate my route, randomly some points were missing.
I then must go manually and edit the route within the device something that needs time thus eliminating most of the computers use.
It would be interesting to wade through the temp.gpx file that the route is contained in when you transfer it to the nuvi. Are the missing route points in the GPX file or completely missing? If they are there is there some difference in the syntax or formatting from the ones that transfer OK? If they are missing in temp.gpx, it seems to me it would be a BaseCamp issue. If they are in the temp.gpx file and formatted correctly, then it seems it would be a device issue.
All the waypoints make it to the device. It's only when the device reads the gpx in order to create a trip that some points are dropped. This can be confirmed by looking in BaseCamp at what got stored in the device... the route will show complete. The somewhat revealing thing is that if a point is dropped in one trip it will get dropped in all trips.
There must be 'something' about that point(s) that makes the device to choke on it, consistently.
Yet, to add to the confusion, if the supposedly 'bad' point is used as an origin or destination in the route (instead of an intermediate point), then all is fine.
