Strange case of "unroutable" waypoints

I have hundreds of waypoints. With them I create hundreds of routes which I then transfer to the nuvi, where they become trips. So far, so good, the process works fine.

But, for some unfathomable (to me) reason, some waypoints are omitted by the nuvi when creating the trip. Now, that could be just a nuvi software hiccup, but it's more confusing than that: the nuvi always omits the same waypoint(s), no matter what trip they belong to, so there's something different about these particular waypoints, something that makes them, for some reason, not acceptable by the nuvi as trip waypoints.

Note: the BaseCamp route is not the problem (all waypoints are there), it's only when the route is sent to the nuvi that some waypoints are dropped. Also, all waypoints are on roads.

Any clues as to why these waypoints, created in BaseCamp, are consistently rejected/omitted from any/all nuvi trips?

Are they waypoints? Or viapoints? Or shaping points?

Waypoints and viapoints should show on the nuvi when you do a Go to, shaping points won't (depending on the device, which nuvi do you have?). They should though show in the trip planner app.

They are BaseCamp waypoints. I never use via/shaping points. In BC I first create the waypoints then I create the route with them, it's all pretty standard stuff. When the route is OK I send it to the nuvi. It's only then that some (very few) are dropped from the trip. And they are not just dropped from that trip, they are dropped from ALL trips.

In other words, say I have a waypoint for a McDonald's in Reno and five different BaseCamp routes that actually stop at that waypoint. Well, after transfer to the nuvi all five trips omit that stop, and only that stop. There must be "something" about that waypoint, but I can't figure what.

I have a nuvi 3590.

What happens if you send these waypoints from Base Camp to the nuvi as Favorites or Saved Places? Do they show up in the list of saved places? If so, what happens if you try to add them to a saved route on the nuvi itself?

They show perfectly well in the Saved Places list.

If I then add them manually to an existing nuvi trip they add fine.

Weird indeed.

If a kind soul wishes to try please do the following:

1. In BC search for point of interest "McDonald's" near Reno, NV and select the one on "120 Lemmon Dr".
2. Click on the red flag icon ("create a waypoint at selected result(s)").
3. Create a simple BaseCamp route from any two Cities and include the waypoint just created as a middle stop.
4. Send the route to the nuvi.
5. Open the newly created trip in the nuvi's Trip Planner.

In my case, the McDonald's stop is totally omitted.

OK. Used Reno and Chilcoot as the cities. Map was NA 2014.40. McDs came up as 122 Lemmon Drive, not 120?

Everything showed in trip planner on my nuvi 2508.

I'm using BaseCamp 4.4.7 and map NA 2015.40. This is what I see:

Very strange... I guess I will just have to settle for adding the missing waypoints by hand, but it is a nuisance.

I just knew I should have picked a less revealing of my bad habits and more PC waypoint ! :D
