I am able to upload waypoints from Topo! 4.5 to my Oregon 600. However, I cannot download waypoints from Oregon 600 to Topo! 4.5. Topo! shows "Import Completed" with no waypoints downloaded. Has anyone experienced this problem and offer a workaround?
I'm not familiar with Topo 4.5, is this a map or a program?
Topo! 4.5 was the last version of National Geographic's map software. I used this for years with my eTrex Legend. They added supported for the Oregon (USB interface) before the product was discontinued in 2013. I recently upgraded my Legend to an Oregon 600 and wish to use my waypoints from the last decade.
While I can upload my waypoints using Topo! 4.5 to the Oregon, I cannot download the waypoints back to Topo! 4.5.

You could of course trying loading your waypoints from your Oregon into Basecamp and then exporting a gpx file, which Topo 4.5 may be able to read/import.

This is just a thought. I believe your device behaves as a mass storage device and that the software will probably read gpx files. Instead of using the software download protocol, try to access the Oregon thru the File>Open menu. Alternatively, you could try and export your waypoints to a gpx file by running it thru BaseCamp. This may have the advantage of exporting all of your waypoints into a single gpx file (some devices store waypoints in individual files). By running thru BaseCamp I mean to access and export thru the device instead downloading and exporting from My Documents or a List . Hope this makes sense.
