Basecamp does not find google earth in view option

Google earth 7.1.5 1557 is installed and open. Basecamp 4.4.7 is installed and open. I create a waypoint and want to view it on google earth. A pop up message on basecamp reads google earth is not installed. The problem started this week. Google earth and base camp functioned perfectly together last year and this year up until now.
I have read the posts. Do not tell me to install and old version of google earth. Basecamp should recognize google earth. We need a patch or a basecamp update to correct this problem.
I drive through the Nevada desert on dirt roads. When I plot a course, I need to check on google earth to see if the road on the map is navigable.
  • If you've read the posts you'll know that the work around is first to launch GE then call it from within BC. Why this is necessary for some users is being investigated.

Both applications are up and running and you see this behavior? We have seen that things work well once Google Earth is launched but you are still seeing the error message where the app still can't find Google Earth?
