Hello. If I am holding geocaching GPX files over 50mb on my device garmin basecamp throws error. If I try to import same file to basecamp out of memory error displays. Where can I seek for help?
How much caches do they contain? Which device have you got, and can it handle those caches? The files are just way too big for BaseCamp...
File has around 5000 caches. I have got Garmin GPSMAP 64s. Device handles those caches with easy. 64s came with 250 000K caches already prealoaded as GGZ. By the way if I try loading caches as GGZ basecamp does not recognize them at all. I was trying to use basecamp as geocaching trip planner. But I can't since it does not show geocaches. I tried loading smaller set of geocaches into basecamp for planning my trip. I generated route based on selected caches and uploaded that route to device. And somehow that route upload overlapped geocaches which were on my device already with that smaller set of geocaches which was made for basecamp.
You can't compare it with the number of geocaches in GGZ files, because those are designed to contain large numbers of caches by using indexes. BaseCamp doesn't support GGZ files; maybe a BaseCamp developer will tell whether it is on the to do list or not.
Note that every geocache on the device needs to be unique; when there are several copies of the same cache the device may not show any of them...

Improving XML handling so we don't choke on large gpx files is on the to-do-list.
And in https://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=4435 it says "Improved XML processing (so it should now be possible to import and export larger gpx files than previously)." on "Changes made from version 3.3.3 to 4.0.1:". So I think this issue was marked as fixed, while it wasn't
Converting the GPX file to GDB might be an option, but note that the items will loose all geocache characteristics; you will end up with regular waypoints...
