organizing the Library

My Basecamp Library is just "My Collection". It is made up of several folders called "Data received from Edge 800 (unit xxxxx)". Plus a few tracks and multiple tracks and a folder of a couple of tracks called, "Unlisted Data".

How do people organize their folders/files? By date? Does the program start another folder (Data received from ....) when the existing file gets to a certain size? Does it make backup and export easier if the folders are smaller and organized by some category?

Any guidance or direction from a more experienced user would be helpful.
