Hello, as I didn't get answers in this channel at all (I understand, this is more than a feedback-channel for the new version), I just have to post my question here...

- Will there be an option, to turn off on-map popups and info-balloons anytime in future versions?

Please, can an admin, or a developer answer this question?

PS: For interested people, there is an option to turn off the popups since version 4.5.0!

Most of us have been requesting that precise thing for YEARS!!!! So the answer appears to be no. :mad: But if enough of us complain for long enough maybe it will happen. It is without a doubt the MOST annoying behavior of BC! What I would like to see instead or in addition to an option is a TEN SECOND delay before the pop-up.

SURELY that is easier to code than an option.

To code it as an option is trivial. If they don't do it, after all the complaints, one can only think it is because they prefer to leave things as they are, for whatever reason they choose not to make public.

I view it a just a big middle finger salute to the user base. If they wanted to they could fix it in 10 minutes but they choose not to fix it.

It is without a doubt the MOST annoying behavior of BC!

Unbelieveable! How can a software developing company like Garmin ignore their users for so long? Its definitely a big middlefinger to us, the users!

I mean, why cannot be there a little fixed area for the map-information instead? Like in QLandkarte? My girlfriend points, what would the users of google maps say, if there would be such popups, and she's right. Annoying the users is the most badest thing to do, when you develop software. Right after ignoring them for years... sad!

So I would ask again, and hopefully a developer can answer to this soon: is there a REASON for this behavior? And will there be an option to turn off that soon?

PS: Hey SUSSAMB, why you edit my post here? I just want to know, when you can EDIT my posts, then, surely, you had READ it, don't you? You are a member of this forum, an admin, what do you say about this little annoying popups and about the fact, that users was ignored by staff members for so long? What is going on in here?

We have this on the roadmap for hopefully 4.5. I am not able to give dates but we have it on the road map.

Hey jm47048, THAT sounds good. Hopefully it seems still worth it to implement after some weeks, huh? Can you answer pls what was the reason for not getting back to some earlier questions about this popups? It is hard to implement?

And PLS can you say, what will be implemented, too? A simple "turn off" function, or a complete new solution (maybe like the Program QLandkarte handle the map-information? There is a fixed textarea showing this info, VERY useful)..
