Converting route into track

Hello,
I'm using Basecamp 4.4.7 and OSM-map (Openfietsmap.nl) to plan my routes (and the elevation graphs are displayed). But if I convert them into tracks (to use on my Edge 810), all elevation information got lost. I have to import the route into Gpsies.com and to convert them there into tracks to keep the elevation information. Are there plans to change this behaviour in a future version? (I know, there are no problems with TOPO-Maps).

BaseCamp shows an elevation graph on routes (provided you are using a map with elevation contours or DEM data), but the elevation data isn't stored in the route and thus not transferred to the track.

BaseCamp has an option to add elevation data to a track, but only when you have a map that has DEM (Digital Elevation Model) data. OSM maps don't contain DEM data.

I have a topo map "Topo Canada V4- 010-C1086-00". Is there a way that I can determine if it has DEM data? Thanks.

Simplest way is to create a route in BaseCamp then look at the elevation plot. If there isn't one it doesn't.

Thanks. I verified that "Topo Canada V4" has no DEM data. So I found a map that seems to have elevation data (ibycus topo 4.0). I created a route in basecamp using that map. Elevation info appears when I view the tabular data under properties (See attached snip). However, when I try to look at the graph in Basecamp, I get the message "The current map does not contain any elevation data on the selected route(s)". See 2nd attached snip. What am I doing wrong?
