Basecamp routes not lining up with roads?

This is a very strange problem I am having and there is no easy way to explain it. For some reason the routes in Basecamp are showing slightly shifted down and to the left of the road. Easier to understand this issue with a picture:

As you can see, the actual route is not lined up with the actual roads -- it is just slightly off. This JUST started yesterday; have never had this issue in the past. Every route in My Collection is like this now. I've tried closing and reopening Basecamp. I've tried restarting my computer. I've tried creating a new route. Nothing fixes it.

Any ideas?

Was this route created using this map or another? I'd try doing a recalculation to see what happens.

It looks to me as though this map differs slightly from the map you used originally, if indeed you created the route on a different map.

It was created using this map, in BaseCamp. Two days ago, when I created this route, it was aligned with the roads. Now, it's off. All my routes are like this now. I tried the recalc, but it does the same. I've tried moving a few of the points, placing them exactly on the intersections, but the route drawn is always misaligned with the roads.

Here's another screenshot of the exact same route, but a little zoomed out. You can see that the same problem persists, to the same degree:

Then I'm not sure what's happening, does look slightly strange though particularly if it didn't start happening until a few days ago.

What happens if you export the route to, say, Google Earth?

Thanks... However I am using the Garmin TOPO U.S. 24K maps. I also have an older MetroGuide North America v6, and the same issue persists. I tried reducing the detail level in both maps, and the issue was still there.

What happens if you export the route to, say, Google Earth?

When I export to Google Earth (as a .kml file) it shows the route spot on the roads. So no problem there! So it seems like the coordinates are correct, but BaseCamp is shifting the map graphics slightly.

I've just read on another forum of a similar problem caused by accidentally rotating the map using the Map Controls. It was resolved by moving the map again. Worth a try I guess.

That did it! Problem is fixed. Thanks for posting this -- I was about ready to uninstall and reinstall BaseCamp!

Good to know that worked but it shouldn't really happen. Hopefully the developers will pick it up and open a case.
