BaseCamp Tutorial

Ed Conde on the New England Riders forum (a motorcycle forum) has put together a great tutorial on using BaseCamp. The tutorial evolved from a class agenda from which he's taught a number of BaseCamp haters to use the program in a few hours. This tutorial is very useful for anyone new to BaseCamp or struggling with it, and will get you past the steep learning curve so many folks seem to experience.

A tutorial 54 pages long and a "few hours" to learn the program.....that sums up how unsimple Basecamp has become. Long Live Mapsource

If you tried to learn MapSource from scratch it would take some time also. In any case BaseCamp does take longer to learn as it's capable of far more than MapSource. If you don't need the additional features then continue to use MapSource but comparing it to BaseCamp is like comparing a basic Word editor with the latest version of MS Word.

To learn the basic functions of Basecamp from scratch takes 30 minutes at most, but if you're used to Mapsource you also need to 'unlearn' some stuff :)

Where MapSource is still better than BaseCamp is in address search, although BaseCamp is much better than it used to be.
