Can't get total ascent/descent figures for Routes

Using Basecamp (in any routing profile) and with altitude data in the mapping I can create a route and see the Min, Max and Avg Elevation. I can also see the Graph showing the Route profile and I get the Elevation for each Waypoint/Shaping Point. However, it will not show the Total Ascent/Descent in the Route Summary.

I can fudge this by creating a Track from the Route and then the Summary shows the missing data.

is this an error just specific to me or something missing from Basecamp? If the latter, could we have it fixed?

    It is possible something got lost/broken. I'm still using v4.2.5 due to operating system. I checked a route and it showed the graph but no no ascent/descent in the route summary. However, I had originally created the route using a map without elevation data. When I recalculated the route using a map with elevation data the values for ascent/descent appeared. Try a recalculation and see if this solves the problem. Even if the route was origninally created using the map with elevation data, a change to the profile when using a map without elevation data may have caused all of your routes to be recalculated. Please report back your findings as this could be a bug with newer versions of BaseCamp.

    OK - I've tried Recalculating an existing Route and also creating a new Route using mapping that has elevation data (the Graph tab show the elevation profile). Neither has the total ascent/descent figures.

    I'm on Basecamp 4.4.6
