Multiple Maps On PC For BaseCamp

Is there a reason for me to have multiple map files on my PC?

What is the best way to delete them from the hard drive?

I'm assuming the Global Map file has locations outside of North America?

I don't seem to be able to view Graphs when I look at my route properties. Why? How do I get this data? It would be most helpful when planning mountainous routes to be able to see altitude.

Garmin maps can be deleted via the Uninstall in Control Panel.

You'll only see elevation data if the selected map in Basecamp has the relevant data.

Bad information. I did as you suggested, using Control Panel to delete what were labeled as "maps." What actually happened was Basecamp disappeared from my hard drive. There's got to be a different way to delete old versions of maps off the hard drive.

I just delete the .gmap folder of older maps. Quick/easy/works.

Never done that for me, but if so just reinstall BC.

This happened to me as well the last time I uninstalled an older CNNA from the Control Panel! Grrrr. From now on I will use JaVaWa's GMTK program to delete old versions.

Using BC 4.4.4 on a Win 7 laptop.
