Custom POI´s show on BASECAMP but appear as a flag in GPS

hi all

I´m trying to send Custom POI´s that I created on BASECAMP but all of them appear as a blue flag in Montana GPS
The custom POI was created with the 32x32 pixels max, *.bmp 24 bits
Everything perfect on Basecamp, but on GPS...NOT..:confused:

You will need to install the appropriate Custom Symbol on your Montana

POI's are created with Garmin POI Loader, and don't need separate custom symbols on the device (the symbols are intgrated in the POI file). For POI Loader the bmp files need to be 8 bit, otherwise they will be scrambled on the Montana.

If you are trying to create waypoints with custom symbols (not the same as POI's), then you will have to add the custom symbols to the Montana too, but with different names than in BaseCamp(!) For custom symbols 24 bit is OK.

Isn't it delightful to have such a user-friendly system? One needs to be a computer, well, not expert, but someone who's happy to poke about in all these detailed files to make the stuff work the way it all used to.
