Basecamp Help Please

Hi folks

As a newbie to the forums and a long time user of Garmin gadgets I was a bit miffed
when Garmin replaced Mapsource with Basecamp. At least they provided a manual
for Mapsource which they don't seem to have done for Basecamp.
I was wondering if anyone in the Forum has come across a Manual/User Guide for this
program or is able to pint me in the right direction as to where I might find one preferably
for free! Thanks so much.

Well there are the help files and videos under the Help button on the toolbar.

There is also the Basecamp wiki http://garminbasecamp.wikispaces.com/

Unfortunately neither the videos nor the Help files keep up to date with the changes to the program itself and are often confusing/unhelpful to new users like me. I use quite sophisticated computer radio control transmitters and the difference in user help information between them and Garmin s/w, which probably has a much wider user base, is quite marked ... and not to Garmin's advantage.

Well while they may not be completely up to date they should give enough information to get a newbie going. I learnt how to use Basecamp simply by playing around with it, and once I realised it didn't work the same as Mapsource it wasn't that difficult.
