Travel Time Search for POI's

Hi

Hope someone can help. I am trying to do a search for POI's from a specific location based on the time it will take to travel there. i.e If i set a waypoint as My Home, and I want to see what POI's are within a 2hr travel period, how do I do this? Or is this just not possible in Basecamp?

If not, hopefully the developers will see this thread and include the feature in the next release. (Pretty please! ;) )

I'm pretty sure that would not be a useful feature. POIs include restaurants, hotels, motels, stores, shopping centres, hospitals, schools, police stations, gas/petrol stations, banks, ATMs, and many other sorts of things. The list of all POIs within a 2 hour radius would be huge!

A list like that would hardly be any use. And that broad a search through the POI database would be slow.

You might try using the trip planner feature. There is a search along route feature where you can drag a slider along the route and search nearby places. It shows you time and distance.

    Thanks jm47048, will try that

kganshirt, please don't decide for me what will be helpful or not. I wouldn't post the question if I would have found such a feature useless.

I'm not trying to make a decision for you. My comment was not about what you want but about what you would likely get. If the feature could work the way you want it to I'm sure it would be useful to you. And to me and many others. I simply pointed out that the sheer number and variety of POIs makes it very unlikely it could be implemented in a way that would be useful. This is one of those points I would love to be proven wrong about.

In any case a workaround that might be useful to you and which can be used immediately has been suggested so hopefully it has been a fruitful discussion for you.

    Be well.
