IMGFROMGPX... works but not when os map is turned on

Im am trying to view numerous tracks on my montana 650 and as this is not possible i have found this way to do it which all works well until i turn my os map on within the gps and then they disappear, when i copy the IMG files over to the gps when i am doing this process i copy them all over because i am not sure which one it is exactly that i need, i have tried all different IMG files but still the tracks vanish as soon as i turn the os map on, i have also tried changing the TYP FILE which does change when on the gps but they still vanish.

This is what i do exactly

I open basecamp highlight several tracks, export selection as 1 (or list) to a folder, then drag and drop that 1 exported file to IMGFROMGPX, select poi style, skip, create map which then creates 2 folders (gmap, reg) and 1 file (gmapsup) so then i take all the IMG files from them folders plus the gmapsup (4 in total) and copy them to my garmin folder on my gps.

The tracks can then be viewed as a map/layer on basecamp and on my gps just not with the os map turned on.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to any threads on this IMGFROMGPX or alike or any other way of viewing multiple tracks please?

Thanks
  • That's not the way to put maps on a GPS... Only copy the gmapsupp.img (you can change the part of the name before the extension) to the device; the other ones are meant to be installed on the computer (and can be send to the device using Garmin MapInstall; never put those other files directly on the GPS).

The OS map, is that "BirdsEye Select Great Britain"? AFAIK you can change the draw order of that map in BaseCamp before you send it to the device. If the draw order is too high, it will cover every other map (including the one created with IMGfromGPX).

Just wanting to say thanks for posting this. I've been looking for a program that could convert gpx files to map images since last summer!
