Basecamp and GPS Map62S - Default Waypoint Icons out of Synch

I am using Basecamp 4.4.6 and the Map62S is up to date.
A lot of the Basecamp Waypoints I am transferring to the Map62S have their Icons turning to the Blue Flag.
Checking between creating a Waypoint in Basecamp and selecting an Icon from the Standard Icons supplied, and doing the same thing on the 62S shows that the standard Icon lists on the two systems are quite disparate.
How do I get them back to being the same?

You can't, that's just how it is. If you want icons to be the same you have to use ones in Basecamp that have the same ones in your GPS or create the appropriate custom symbols. Base camp displays a number of symbols that are not available on the 62s or 64s. It would be nice if Basecamp was more device aware and only displayed the compatible ones or, if there was a way to actually send those other symbols to your device without having to go through the create custom symbol process. Also with the 62s and 64s when you create a route where the route contains points with symbols, the route uses blue push-pins even though that point may display a symbol. With that, you have both symbols and blue push-pins!

It is very strange to me - I have used the whole system for so many years now, have something like 35,000 waypoints stored across 2 countries, and this is the first time ai have ever run into this discrepancy between the two systems? Up till now they have always looked the same to me, and now examining the 62s I am finding lots of icons in its standard pages that I have never seen before?

Garmin devices only support a subset of the 266 possible symbols in BaseCamp; modern outdoor devices do about 55% of them, and other devices way less. This has always been the case.
You can add some 50 custom waypoint symbols to the device, but even then you can't cover them all.
