Etrex 20 how do I see maps on Micro SD card

I have only just got my Etrex 20 and have just downloaded basecamp. I have looked at a couple of the videos.

I have downloaded a new Garmin map onto a micro sd card in my device. The device can see it but when I connect the device to my Mac, Basecamp does not see the new map. I have clicked on the SD card icon and it shows it has memory in use but it does not show the map and a notification comes up to say there are no detailed maps installed.

What am I doing wrong?

Probably nothing, some maps don't show up by default. Use JaVaWa's Device manager http://www.javawa.nl/jdm_en.html to make the map visible to Basecamp.

To expand on what SUSSAMB said .img (map) files created with MapSource/MapInstall have a flag in them that tells BaseCamp not to display them. JaVaWa's Device Manager allows you to alter that flag.
