How Do I Email a GPX File

Hi, First post.

I have created a route in BaseCamp and want to email the GPX file to a friend. How do I do that?

In BaseCamp click on it in the left window so it's highlighted. Then select File, Export, Export Selection. You can change the name or where it's saved if you would like. Then click Save. You can now attach it to an email.

I have exported a BC route - it saves a gpx file.

in another thread folks say they can Import a gpx file to Google Maps / My Maps.
but
when I try - Google comes back wrong file format
?? ideas ??

You need a .kml file not a .gpx to import into Google Maps. When you export you will see a drop down menu with "GPS eXchange Format (*.gpx)" click on it and select "KML 2.2 Document, v2 (*.kml)". You will then be able to import the .kml file.
