Im truly stymied.
The way I do things is as follows.
1. Come home from trek and import data from Garmin 62stc gps into Basecamp;
2. Edit/Clean tracks, rename waypoints, etc;
3. Backup My Collection;
4. Delete everything from Internal Storage;
5. Via WINDOWS I delete everything out of the device's GPX folder
6. Transfer My Collection to Device via Copy/Paste to "Internal Storage"
7. Via WINDOWS verify everything transferred over properly
But SOMEHOW, there's a very annoying problem with the camera images I take as waypoints. For example, if the pics are named
DSC00001
DSC00002
Somehow, as time goes on, I end up with
DSC00001
DSC000011
DSC000012
DSC00002
DSC000021
DSC000022
And that's a (sarcasm) nice-looking version. Sometimes it gets worse with 3, 4 and 5 times the duplicates.
And I don't know if its related but somehow, in that mess, the original picture no longer has its thumbnail as its icon but rather a waypoint flag. But when I delete all the duplicates and leave the one with the flag, I believe it is contributing to an error message that includes:
X "has incomplete images and will not be sent" (I cant find the original error message in its entirety)... I've seen others complain about this type of error message when trying to download BIRDSEYE images -- I do not have Birdseye -- this referring to my images.
So, somehow my images are like kudzu... in the way I do things, its causing duplicates upon duplicates upon duplicates and when I go into clean them up, it not only happens again but, somehow, some images become corrupted and Basecamp doesn't or won't recognize them for some reason.
Anyone have knowledge of this issue and what, if anything, might help me keep it all from repeating?
Thank you,
Sam
